EDWARD R. McMAHON is a former judicial clerk to the Honorable Vincent P. Biunno, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and is a New Jersey Court Approved Mediator. He concentrates his practice on commercial litigation and banking.  He has handled a broad range of complex commercial and general business litigation matters including corporate, partnership and LLC disputes, dissolutions and buyouts, civil RICO litigation, lender liability claims, punitive damages in the context of business litigation and numerous chancery matters including estates and trusts litigation, corporate, partnership and LLC receiverships and commercial mortgage foreclosures. The focus of his banking practice is on the lending side, structuring and closing of commercial loans as well as loan workouts. He also has extensive experience in defending public entities with respect to numerous types of claims and issues, including claims under Title 59.

Mr. McMahon has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America  in the practice areas of commercial litigation and corporate law, as one of the "New York Area's Top Lawyers" by New York magazine in the same specialities and as a New Jersey Monthly magazine "Super Lawyer" in business litigation. He has also been listed in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in The World for many years.

He is a member of the Civil Trial Bar and Banking Law Sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Litigation, TIPS and Banking and Business Law Sections of the ABA; the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey, the Essex County and Morris County Bar Associations, the American Judicature Society and The Historical Society of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. McMahon serves as a New Jersey Court Apporved Mediator as well as for the Essex County Chancery Court Mediation Program and an Arbitrator for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey Arbitration Program. He is also a past Member of both the Supreme Court of New Jersey District Ethics committee and the Supreme Court of New Jersey District Fee Arbitration Committee. He is a founding member and Counselor of the Morris & Essex Inn of Transactional Counsel.

Mr. McMahon has been active in Republican politics for many years. He is a member of the New Jersey State Republican Committee and formerly served for many years as Chairman of the Chairman of the Chatham Borough Republican Committee and as a member of the Morris County Republican Committee. Additionally, he is active in numerous civic, charitable and business activities. He was a founder and member of the board of a state-chartered commercial bank and has served on the boards of several nonprofit/charitable organizations, currently serving as a Trustee of the Richard J. Hughes Foundation. He is also a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, having served as District Justice during law school, and Delta Upsilon Fraternity and is an active member of and class representative for the alumni associations of Colgate University and the Delbarton School.
