  • Hon. Richard C. Camp, J.S.C. (ret) is a panelist on June 24, 2010 at the seminar entitled "Use of Appraisals in Litigation." He will discuss the matrimonial law aspects of appraisals. The seminar is being held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Libretti's Restaurant, 554 Nassau Street, Orange, New Jersey.

  • Kevin F. Murphy and Morris County Surrogate, John Pecoraro, conducted a seminar on "De-Mystifying the Probate Process in Morris County" on June 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fairleigh Dickinson University - Madison Campus, in the Rutherford Room (Ferguson Recreation Center).

  • On March 31, 2010, members of the firm presented a seminar and panel discussion on topics of interest for family owned businesses. Topics will include Restrictive Covenants, LLC Operating Agrreements, A New Era at DEP: Boon or Bane for Small business, Contract Procurement Opportunities for Minority businesses, Estate Tax Planning in 2010, and a Litigators perspective on disputes involving family owned businesses. The seminar was held at Hartman Lounge, The Mansion at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. Managing Partner Wayne J. Positan moderated, panelists included; Christopher Capone, Philip L. Chapman, Steven J. Eiesenstein, Charly Gayden, Kevin F. Muphy and Kevin J. O'Connor.

  • The Annual ICLE Labor Law Forum took place at the NJ Bar Center on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 led by organizer/moderator Wayne J. Positan. It included presentations by the NJ Commissioner of Labor, the NLRB Regional Director and noted labor and employment practitioners, including a segment replicating a program presented at NJ Judicial College including Judges Harz and Sapp-Peterson, Wayne Positan, Nancy Erika Smith, Bruce McMoran, and John Ridley. Firm member Christina Silva presented a program on Ethics in Employment Law with Justice Roberto Rivera-Soto and Ralph Lamparello. Positan has chaired the Annual ICLE Labor Law Forum since 1994.

  • Wayne J. Positan was selected to teach two courses at Judicial College for New Jersey judges on November 24, 2009, along with Moderator Nancy Erika Smith of Smith Mullin, and panelists Judge Dennis Carey (Essex), Judge Rachelle Harz (Bergen), Neil Mullin of Smith Mullin ,and Eric Schwimmer, Vice President and Chief of Legal Resources/Human Relations of Prudential Insurance Company. The courses were the NJ Law Against Discrimination and CEPA (Whisteblower) Litigation.

  • Dennis J. Drasco moderated a CLE seminar on Hot Tips in Federal Practice in New Jersey which included the Chief Judge of the U. S. D. C. in New Jersey at the NJSBA Midyear meeting in San Francisco, in November 2009

  • Dennis J. Drasco was a Featured Presenter at The Litigation Counsel Of America 2009 Spring Conference in Santa Fe New Mexico on May 7 and gave a lecture entitled: THE VANISHING TRIAL: WHERE HAS IT GONE AND CAN IT BE SAVED? He was also inducted as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel Of America at the same meeting. 

  • Dennis J. Drasco was a panelist at the New Jersey Bar Association Annual Meeting in Atlantic City on May 14 on Voir Dire in New Jersey Superior Court Trials.

  • Dennis J. Drasco  spoke at the Spring Conference and Induction of Fellows for the Litigation Counsel of America on May 7-9, 2009, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

    Mr. Drasco is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney who specializes in the trial of complex commercial, construction, condemnation, insurance, medical malpractice and legal malpractice cases in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey and the mediation and arbitration of those cases in ADR forums. He is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America", New Jersey Super Lawyers and Chambers USA. At the conference, he will speak about whether improvements to jury practice help preserve the right to jury trial and will counter the vanishing trial phenomenon.

  • As Chair of the ABA Commission on the American Jury, Dennis J. Drasco chaired the National Symposium on the American Jury at Fordham Law School on October 16 and 17, 2008. In addition to chairing the entire program, he moderated a panel entitled "Jury Innovations in the Twenty-First Century" which Chief Judith Kaye of New York and the Chief Justice of Connecticut, the Chief Judge from the Northern District of Illinois and Retired New Jersey Chief Justice James Zazzali, who participated as panelists.

  • At the New Jersey State Bar Association Mid-Year Meeting on November 6, 2008, Dennis J. Drasco participated in a program entitled "Federal Practice in New Jersey."

  • As President of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, Dennis J. Drasco chaired a program entitled "Federal Practice for New Jersey State Court Practitioners" on November 13, 2008, at Mayfair Farms, West Orange. This program was repeated in South Jersey on November 20, 2008, at the Boat House in Camden. 

  • Kevin F. Murphy was a presenter at a seminar: "Guardianships and Conservatorships from A to Z" to be held in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 17th, 2008 and Saddle Brook, NJ on November 18th, 2008. The Seminar was sponsored by the National Business Institute.
  • Kevin F. Murphy was a featured speaker at a seminar; "Titanic Tax Techniques: How to Keep Your Ship Afloat"  held at the firm on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 from 6-8 PM. The seminar is being presented by the firm and Merrill Lynch. Timely topics included a focus on the impact of the 2008 Presidential Election on your taxes; taking advantage of a low-interest rate environment to minimize your gift and estate taxes; and avoiding double-taxation with inherited IRAs.

  • Paul A. Sandars III, will be speaking at the ABA Forum on Construction Winter Meeting, Bonita Springs, Florida. January 15, 2009. Plenary Session 2 "The Construction Defect Case; Litigating The Defect Or Litigating To Coverage". This program will explore the issue of "occurrence" as it relates to triggering a claim under a General Commercial Liability Policy and the available damages when coverage is afforded as well as the exclusions that apply to such policies.

    He will also be speaking at a Seminar sponsored by Lorman Education Services, "Public Contracts and Procurement Regulations" Parsippany, NJ. January 23, 2009. This seminar presents a complete overview of New Jersey public bidding laws and regulations including lowest responsible bidding, pay to play, competitive contracting and court intervention.

  • Philip Chapman was recently featured on "America's Premier Lawyers" show, broadcast on Continental Airlines throughout the month of April, 2008. He spoke on the subject of non-competition agreements with employees

  • On March 13, 2008, Wayne J. Positan was the Moderator for the 2008 Labor & Employment Law Forum, which took place at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, from 9:00 AM - 2:00pm. This conference agenda included a comprehensive Employment Law update, an NLRB update as well as other topics of interest to labor and employment law practitioners. The program was sponsored by the NJICLE in cooperation with the NJSBA Labor and Employment Law Section.

  • The Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Arnall Golden Gregory LLP hosted a luncheon event on April 2, 2008;
    Reflections on the ABA American Jury Project: Advancing Innovative Approaches to Jury Trials in Federal Court
    featuring speaker Dennis J. Drasco, former Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation, Co-Chair of the American Jury Project, Current Chair of the ABA Commission on The American Jury, and 2008 President of the New Jersey Federal Bar Association.
